Market Readiness Overview
Review sender registration and message content rules for Malaysia before pushing traffic that includes links, promotions, or brand identifiers.
Malaysia needs a more deliberate launch plan when links, brand names, and promotional content are involved. Use the summary sections here to decide what should be reviewed before campaigns go live.
Rollout Checklist
- Confirm sender ID registration status before launching traffic.
- Review whether links, promotional content, or brand naming create additional restrictions.
- Coordinate approval timelines with campaign scheduling and message template planning.
Approval Path
Check sender registration needs before any live traffic is scheduled.
Review message patterns that include links, offers, or brand references.
Align campaign timing with the approval path so launch expectations stay realistic.
Watchouts
- Traffic containing links can face stricter expectations than simple service notifications.
- Approval assumptions should be validated before campaign dates are promised internally.
- Cross-market reuse of sender IDs or templates should not be assumed without review.
Due to recent changes in Malaysia, all sender IDs must be registered to send SMS messages that contain links to recipients in the country. Any unregistered sender IDs will result in messages being blocked.
Any messages containing links will be blocked if your sender ID isn’t registered.
